Border Control Irony

My parents own a boat, which they currently house in Esenada, Mexico.  They do this legally, adhering to both US and Mexican law.  They cross the border weekly to go and spend time on their boat, again, breaking no laws. Well, today, upon trying to return to the US, a country in which they are both Citizens, they were turned back.  The drove back towards home as usual, and began the long wait in line at the San Ysidro border crossing.  However, what they didn't anticipate is that on this day, hordes of angry Mexicans would be protesting the United States' desire to more diligently enforce its borders.  Apparently these people believe that the United States should let anyone cross the border into the US at any time, for any reason.  Except, of course, for my parents.  This happy band of Illegals managed to force the US Customs Service to close the largest US land-based port of entry today, causing my parents to spend an extra three hours in Mexico as they made their way over to the Otay Mesa crossing.  In the mean time, I have no doubt that non-US residents were merrily entering the US illegally along the unprotected parts of our border.  Bastards! UPDATE:  Oh, so apparently, since the border crossing was closed, a bunch of illegal aliens poor, upstanding, hard-working undocumented workers tried to cross into the US by going backwards through the southbound lanes.  Classic.
