I just can't get on board with Sarah Palin

I just have to come out and say it.  Sarah Palin is a moron.

I'm sure she's a nice woman, and probably smart too.  But she seems to have ZERO intellectual curiosity.  I've waited this long to weigh in because I really don't want to pull a Dan Quayle on her, but let's face it, she's an idiot.  She clearly doesn't read much, and has never spent ANY time thinking about national issues.  Unlike Reagan, to whom many have sadly compared her, she is clearly not a student of history, the economy, or world issues.  Now, as Governor of Alaska, that's fine.  I don't expect her to be fully conversant on Supreme Court decisions, or to read varied world publications, etc.

But as a selection for Vice-President of the United States, she's just supremely unqualified.  So unqualified in fact that when pressed on his decision, McCain constantly regurgitates that if one just meets her, they will see what he sees.  Well, a) I doubt this, and b) she can only meet and chat with so many people before the election.   Though I'm free most week nights should the campaign choose to give me a ring.

But on a serious note, I do not consider her speaking style to be folksy.  I consider it to be ignorant.  And truth be told, I don't want my next door neighbor hockey mom running the damn country.  I want someone smarter than me, for crying out loud.  And let's face it, Palin is not that person.

Oh, and McCain ALWAYS mentions that, as one of her amazing qualifications for the office, she understands the needs of special-needs children.  If that doesn't demonstrate the folly of his decision, I don't know what else does.

Country First?  My ass.
