Lease Termination Agreement

More fun on the quest to get my life in order.  I just ran across the Lease Termination Agreement from when my sad little company, A13, was finally shut down in 2001.

I remember when we first signed that lease, and moved into that newly refurbished building on 3611 5th Avenue.  I was exstatic.  I really felt like we had arrived.  Man, I miss that office, but that's for another time.

Anyway, what I had forgotten was that as a security deposit on the 5 year lease on that $15,000 a month space, we had written a $95.560.50 check, and without my thought, as I remember.  Well, when we terminated the lease, we somehow managed to get them to give back $5000 of that.  To this day, I'm not really sure why.  I guess we have good attorneys.  I had completely forgotten to count that among the many more tens of thousands of dollars that failed business attempt cost me (and is still costing me).

Jack Naliboff (among others) was the landlord at the time.  Jack, if you're out there, I'm sorry.  You guys were great to us the whole way through.  I only wish I could have proven worthy of the trust you put into such a young, struggling company.  And I really am sorry for any pain we caused you guys.  I can only assure you that the pain on our end was much worse.
